Field Welder - Multiple Locations

Summary

Moore Iron and Steel Corporation is currently accepting applications for Welders to be a part of our field crews in multiple locations. 

 

Qualifications

Must pass a weld test per AWS or ASME in the processes that are applied for as well as pass either a bend test or x-ray welding with flux core, stick and hard wire. 

Must have experience in the construction field of erected storage structures and in using the following tools:  4 and 8 pound hammer, fit up bar, grinders, and chipping hammers.

Must be able to pass a substance abuse test whenever required by Moore Iron and Steel Corporation or its customers.

 

Essential Functions, Duties and Tasks

Must be able to weld with 7018 and downhill using 6010.

Must be able to manually more 100 feet of weld lead (70-100 lbs.);

Must be capable of climbing heights of 80 feet above ground by vertical ladder and using tools of the trade at that height;

Must be able to assist in the moving of steel plate: unloading, loading, hanging, aligning, and fitting;

Must be able to drive stakes, fit up vertical and bottom seams as well as perform bottom breakdowns;

Must be able to grind weld seams in preparation for x-ray, chip off weld burs, and do other plate surface cleaning;

Must be able to perform all duties safely.

Should be able to read blueprints, do layout, and move scaffolding.

 

Schedule and Work Conditions

10 hours per day, 6 days per week, or 10 hours per day, 5 days per week; able to work overtime when necessary. Begin work promptly at designated time. Standard work week is 40 hours.

 

Worker is on feet, kneeling, or bending all day, and work is done outside in all weather conditions. Worker will be required to wear a hardhat, safety glasses, and ear plugs at all times, and fall protection when climbing over 6 feet. Work requires moving from jobsite to jobsite all over the United States. Should work require wearing a respirator, worker will need to be clean-shaven.

Shop Welder – Yale, Oklahoma

Qualifications

Must pass a weld test per AWS or ASME in the processes that are applied for: will have to pass either a bend test or x-ray welding with flux core vertical position.

Must have experience in the use of the following tools: 4 and 8 pound hammer, fit up bar, grinders, chipping hammers, magnetic drills and cutting tools.

Must be able to pass a post hire physical verifying ability to perform essential functions on the job, as well as a substance abuse test whenever required by Moore Iron and Steel Corporation or its customers.

Must be able to weld with 7018 and downhill using 6010.

Must be able to manually move 100 feet of weld lead.

Must be able to assist in the moving of steel plate: unloading, loading, hanging, aligning, fitting and cutting: movement is done both manually and with assistance of a crane.

Must be able to grind weld seams in preparation for x-ray, chip off weld burs, and other plate surface cleaning.

Must be able to safely perform all duties.
